This Saturday, May 21st, marks the American Lung Association of Oregon’s 21stAnnual Reach the Beach bicycling event. Acknowledged as the start of the Oregon cycling season, this fundraiser supports ALAO’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
Reach the Beach is sold out for the second year. Therefore, we expect to welcome 3,000 riders to beautiful Pacific City and Cape Kiwanda! Cyclists will be pedaling along four different routes, departing from Portland, Newberg, Amity and Grand Ronde. Please be cautious if you are traveling any of these routes by automobile.
A beach party atmosphere awaits as the day progresses and riders, support teams and cheerleaders reach the finish line at Cape Kiwanda to find a healthy meal, award-winning Pelican beer, and some well-deserved R&R.
